Blog | A Del Mar Marvel: Vitrocsa by Goldbrecht

At the View Point House in Del Mar, Batter Kay Associates designed a residence that functions as a sophisticated lens for the Pacific. The architecture utilizes an angled, shield-like geometry to preserve privacy while opening the interior to panoramic coastal vistas.

Defining the Invisible Envelope

The success of a view-centric home relies on a building envelope that minimizes its own presence. The Vitrocsa Invisible Wall by Goldbrecht defines the home with a 10' tall, 3-panel sliding door, with 2 panels sliding behind fixed panel on the right (ext. view). This Swiss-engineered system offers unobstructed ocean views through custom configurations and minimal sightlines. The Vitrocsa systems provide the ultra-slim profiles necessary to maintain an uninterrupted visual connection to the horizon - and feature advanced motorization at the click of a button.

Engineering the Standard

For ultra-premium residential projects, the technical performance of the glazing is as critical as its aesthetic. While others attempt replication, our patented features and marine-grade bearings ensure effortless movement. Despite the scale of the glass spans, the internal roller systems ensure smooth and silent operation. Goldbrecht also offers Hurricane Impact options to ensure durability in demanding environments. This precision allows the tracks to be recessed into the floor and ceiling. The glass effectively disappears and the home functions as an open-air pavilion.

Elite Coastal Views through Design

Integrating Vitrocsa into a high-end commission like the View Point House does more than enhance the view. It establishes a standard of architectural excellence that appeals to the most discerning clients in North America. By choosing a system that prioritizes transparency and engineering durability, architects ensure the property remains a timeless example of modern coastal luxury. Goldbrecht remains the standard for luxury fenestration.
