Blog | 5 Things to Know About Vitrocsa Minimalist Windows by Goldbrecht
At Goldbrecht, we have reimagined glazing as a true architectural tool. As the sole manufacturer and exclusive distributor of the Vitrocsa Invisible Wall system across the US, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, we partner with visionary architects and discerning homeowners to deliver unprecedented structural transparency.
Here are 5 essential things to know about the world's original frameless system:
1. The World's Original Frameless System
Vitrocsa pioneered the minimalist window industry. Invented in Switzerland in 1992, the system drew directly from the micromechanical precision of Swiss watchmaking to invert traditional frame principles—allowing structural glass to support its own weight.
Today, Goldbrecht brings this iconic heritage directly to North America with dedicated US-based manufacturing and technical support centered at our Los Angeles headquarters.

2. Invisible Architecture & Ultra-Slim 3/4" Sightlines
The signature of the Vitrocsa Invisible Wall is total spatial continuity. Featuring world-leading 3/4" (18.5 mm) vertical sightlines, structural frames are fully recessed into adjacent floors, walls, and ceilings. The result is an invisible building envelope that maximizes natural light, dissolves boundaries, and transforms indoor spaces into open-air pavilions.

3. Unrivaled Structural Flexibility & Configurations
Every luxury commission requires a tailored engineering solution. The Invisible Wall's patented components allow for unrivaled flexibility across custom configurations:
- Sliding: Effortless, whisper-quiet horizontal multi-track sliding panels.
- Fixed: Seamless structural picture windows with maximum glass spans and minimal profiles.
- Pivoting & Outswing: Grand entrance solutions, swing doors, and specialized outswing casement windows engineered for smooth, weightless operation.
- Guillotine: Vertical counterweighted descending glass walls.
- Turnable Corner: Panels that glide around corners to completely liberate architectural openings.
- Motorization: Advanced automated drive components hidden completely from view for control at the click of a button.
Beyond Vitrocsa, Goldbrecht continues to push the boundaries of windows and doors with HIRT kinetics® retracting glass walls, alongside our newly-introduced German aluminum and Italian steel lines.

Precision-engineered by Goldbrecht, Vitrocsa systems accommodate high-performance insulated double and triple glazing to meet strict energy codes. For demanding coastal or extreme urban environments, Goldbrecht also offers certified Hurricane Impact options and marine-grade bearings designed to withstand severe wind loads and salt air.
